People-OnTheGo Reviews the Apple iPhone on the 81-Day-Experiment Blog and in YouTube Videos

After the 81-day-experiment ( in which Pierre Khawand, founder of People-OnTheGo, used 9 handheld devices for 9 days each), Mr. Khawand reviewed the Apple iPhone for 9 consecutive days, and posted his daily observations on the 81-day-experiment blog (http://81dayexperiment.typepad.com), as well as released the corresponding videos on YouTube. The 81-day-experiment blog, which includes many of the latest BlackBerry, Treo, and Windows Mobile devices, is intended to help users make informed purchase decisions, and will be part of Mr. Khawand's upcoming book about the topic of how to be select a handheld device.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 8, 2007 -When the new Apple iPhone was released on Friday June 29th, Pierre Khawand, Founder and CEO of People-OnTheGo, a San Francisco based company that focuses on productivity in the workplace, was at the Apple Store in Palo Alto, California, documenting the last 24 hours that led to release of the Apple iPhone. Mr. Khawand continued to document his use of the device in the 81-day-experiment blog for 9 days (http://81dayexperiment.typepad.com), and following the 9 days, People-OnTheGo launched 9 YouTube videos demonstrating the device in action, and providing users with an in-depth look at the device's capabilities and usability (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6Y3wJaNL8M). In addition, the Apple iPhone has been added to the upcoming book to help users make informed purchase decisions when selecting a handheld device.

"The Apple iPhone has taken the use of the Web on handheld devices to a whole new level" indicated Mr. Khawand as he continues to use the Apple iPhone and gets ready to take his testing to the next level in the upcoming weeks, including using the Apple iPhone with mailboxes on Microsoft Exchange servers. When asked whether the iPhone is for everyone, and whether it will dominate the smartphone market, Mr. Khawand commented that "while I see the iPhone as a breakthrough in user interface and functionality, there are some important issues that it still needs to address, the first relating to availability through additional wireless carriers, the second relating to better supporting corporate e-mail and calendar systems, and allowing higher Internet connectivity speed".

As more users look for handheld devices, and as features, plans, and usability factors become more complex and continue to change, users need a framework for their decision making process. Companies like People-OnTheGo (www.people-onthego.com) provide such a framework and help users avoid costly and less than optimum handheld purchases. The "81-day experiment" blog, the related YouTube videos including the BlackBerry Pearl and the Apple iPhone videos, and the upcoming book about selecting a handheld device, are examples of the new and innovate types of resources that are now available to users.
